The grind of the 9-game SEC schedule has taken its toll on every team in the league, and nobody knows that better than Auburn and Ole Miss.
Both the Tigers and Rebels have enjoyed incredible highs and head-scratching lows this season, with the former having upset Georgia then blown out by LSU the next week while the latter has gone from taking down those same Bayou Bengals to getting trampled by Florida, then returning the favor to Missouri before falling in Austin last weekend.
All of that is to say that when Auburn and Ole Miss square off Saturday, each will be desperate for a victory.
ESPN’s Bill Connelly’s SP+ cares not about desperation, instead trusting a series of metrics and simulations to predict games each week.
And regarding the clash in Oxford, SP+ believes that the Rebels should be able to bounce back with a 32-21 win over the visiting Tigers, keeping their College Football Playoff hopes intact for just a bit longer ahead of some tough matchups down the stretch.

These SEC West rivals of old haven’t met since 2023, with Ole Miss having won both that matchup and the 2022 edition while Lane Kiffin was at the helm. Prior to that, Auburn had won 6 straight in the series dating back to 2016.
