The World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party is venturing indoors this year, as Georgia and Florida will square off in Atlanta after spending years duking it out in Jacksonville.
Both teams enter this game ranked within the Top 20, but each has something to prove. The Bulldogs are fresh off an upset home loss to rivals Auburn and eager to bounce back, while Florida is clinging to College Football Playoff hopes at 5-2 and could give Jon Sumrall another signature win in his first season at the helm.
Ahead of Week 9’s slate of games, ESPN’s Bill Connelly released his SP+ metric’s predictions, and the rivalry clash in Atlanta was included among the featured contests.
And while Florida has more momentum than it has in recent years, SP+ still believes that Georgia should come out on top by double-digits, as it predicts the Dawgs to win, 36-19.

Georgia has won 5 straight matchups in this series dating back to 2021, with Florida having last won multiple games in a row from 2014-2016.
This will be the first time these teams have met outside of Jacksonville since a home-and-home series in 1994 and 1995, with the only other venues they’ve played at being Savannah and Tampa.
