The Memphis Tigers had a popular tweet on Monday, boasting of having the best SEC record in the state of Tennessee after defeating Mississippi State. Another program in the Volunteer State, however, isn’t amused by the Tigers getting all the likes and retweets.
East Tennessee State pointed out that the Buccaneers also have a 1-0 record against SEC teams this season. ETSU, an FCS program, defeated Vanderbilt 23-3 in Week 1.

ETSU and Memphis each have 1-0 records against SEC teams at this stage in the 2021 season. Both programs may get to keep bragging about having the “best SEC records” in Tennessee. Josh Heupel’s Volunteers are traveling to No. 11 Florida, while Vanderbilt hosts No. 2 Georgia.
