Fired college football coach crashes team’s stadium walk-up to greet, encourage former players
Kennesaw State controversially fired Brian Bohannon this week after the Owls got off to a 1-8 start in 2024.
Bohannon spent more than a decade as Kennesaw State’s head coach, ushering the program through the transition from FCS to FBS along the way. He was the program’s first-ever coach, too. No one could blame Bohannon for being frustrated by how his tenure at the program ended, but that appears to not be the case.
As Kennesaw State players were walking into the stadium to face Sam Houston State on Saturday afternoon, Bohannon was there to greet each player on their way in. Here’s video of the scene:
Dude…Brian Bohannon is still here pumping up everyone of his players despite undeservingly losing his job.

That’s an incredible gesture for a fired head coach to make. This will be the program’s first-ever game without Bohannon as head coach, but he still found a way to have a presence for the program that he helped build from the ground up.
Kennesaw State will be fighting for its second win of the season on Saturday vs. Sam Houston State.
