Florida basketball added a commitment from former Seton Hall center Tyrese Samuel Sunday following an official visit this past weekend.

Samuel, who has 1 season of eligibility remaining, chose the Gators over Wake Forest. He had his best season in college basketball last year, averaging 11 points and 6 rebounds per game for the Pirates.

He made his decision via Twitter Sunday:

Samuel could be a solid replacement for Colin Castleton, who is out of eligibility. The Gators also added a commitment from Marshall transfer Micah Handlogten, a 7-1 center with just 1 year of experience earlier this week. Samuel is the more polished of the 2, and could make for some fun potential lineups.

Those aren’t the last of Florida’s transfer additions though. The Gators have also added Iona transfer Walter Clayton and Yale transfer EJ Jarvis this offseason.

Todd Golden did not have the year 1 he was hoping for, but he seems to be reloading for a solid run at the NCAA Tournament next season.
