One of the SEC’s top matchups in Week 3 is a rare meeting between Florida and Auburn.
The Gators and Tigers didn’t play each other often during the SEC’s divisional era — this will be just the 3rd meeting between these programs since 2008.
According to the latest odds on Kalshi, Florida is being priced as a slight favorite. The Gators are favored by 2.5 points and are given a 53% chance to cover the spread, per the market.
The total for this game at Kalshi has been set at 52.5 points.
This is matchup of two first-year head coaches in Jon Sumrall and Alex Golesh. Both programs are off to a 2-0 start in nonconference play, though tougher tests are sure to come against SEC opposition.
Sumrall and Golesh have met once before. In 2024, Sumrall’s Tulane Green Wave crushed Golesh’s South Florida squad 45-10 in New Orleans. Tulane’s quarterback for that game was Darian Mensah, the current Heisman Trophy front-runner. That USF team was led by current Auburn quarterback Byrum Brown.
Brown did not have a strong game — he completed 12-of-18 passes for just 134 yards and finished with negative rushing yards on the day.
Kickoff of this matchup between Florida and Auburn is set for 7 p.m. ET on Saturday night.
