Florida is in a new era with Jon Sumrall, and so far, so good for the Gators as they defeated Campbell 52-3 on Saturday night to move to 2-0.
Leading the way for the Gators was Vernell Brown, who scored three touchdowns on the night. Early in the game, he made his presence felt in the return game, as he took back-to-back punts for touchdowns. That was the first time since 1996 that the Gators had returned consecutive punts for touchdowns. He also scored a 14-yard touchdown on a pass from quarterback Aaron Philo in the second half.
Philo was once again very steady for the Gators at quarterback, as he went 16-of-21 for 242 yards and two touchdowns.

Running back Jadan Baugh showed once again why he is one of the best running backs in the country, as he finished with 136 yards and two touchdowns after going for 160 yards last week.
Florida’s defense was also equally as good, as the Gators allowed only 210 yards of offense, and only a field goal in the first quarter.
The Gators haven’t played elite competition yet, but through two games, they have looked good under Sumrall. Up next for the Gators is a road game at Auburn.
