Florida to debut new uniform combo for Saturday’s Week 2 game

Florida is debuting a new uniform combo on Saturday.
In August, the Gators revealed that they were introducing the combo of blue helmets, orange jerseys and white pants for the first time in program history. On Thursday, it was confirmed that the combo will make its debut on Saturday as UF hosts Campbell.

Five full seasons have passed since the Gators last wore their blue helmets. They last sported the alternate lids in the 2020 season on the road at Tennessee. In that game, Dan Mullen’s squad clinched the SEC East, securing a spot in the conference championship game.
Under Billy Napier, who coached the Gators from 2022-25, Florida mostly stuck to the traditional orange helmet and its classic combos with the home blue and road white jerseys. During Napier’s tenure Florida wore all-black uniforms for the first time in program history.
Jon Sumrall is 1-0 as Florida head coach after the Gators defeated Florida Atlantic 66-21 in Week 1. Saturday’s game against Campbell should serve as a tune-up before hitting the road to begin SEC play at Auburn in Week 3.
