Former Alabama running back Jam Miller, a seventh-round pick in 2026, has landed on the practice squad of the Atlanta Falcons just over a month after he was cut by the New England Patriots.
With Miller’s signing, the Falcons cut former Georgia running back Cash Jones.
Miller enjoyed a strong four seasons with Alabama. His best season was in 2024, when he ran for 668 yards and totaled seven touchdowns on 145 carries. He also made 16 catches for 155 yards and a score.
The former four-star recruit had to wait a while for his name to be called during the 2026 NFL Draft. But he finally came off the board in the seventh round with the 245th overall selection. He looked to make an impression with the Patriots as he recorded 25 carries and 91 yards, but ultimately failed to make the active roster.
Miller now joins the practice squad of the Falcons, who are 2-2 after a blowout win over the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football. He’ll reunite with fellow rookie Kam Dewberry, who signed with Atlanta in April as an undrafted free agent.
The Falcons return to action on Sunday Night Football as they host the Baltimore Ravens in Week 5.
