Arizona Cardinals defensive back Josh Shaw was suspended by the NFL for the remainder of the 2020 season on Friday, for betting on NFL games.
It is unclear whether or not Shaw bet on Cardinals games, and he had not played a down in the 2020 season, as he was placed on injured reserve before Arizona’s season-opening tie with the Detriot Lions.
Shaw was signed to Florida in 2010 by Urban Meyer, but only stayed in Gainesville for two seasons before transferring to USC. Shaw was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft, and is in his first season with the Cardinals.
Here is the NFL’s statement on Shaw’s suspension.
