Last month, Florida OL Andrew Mike announced he was going to leave the Gators and explore his graduate transfer options.

On Monday, his new destination was revealed, as the Rice Owls announced they’d added the rising redshirt senior to their roster.

Mike played in 11 games for the Gators in 2017, but was used mostly as a backup during his time in Gainesville.

Mike confirmed the news by responding to the Owls’ tweet on Monday afternoon:

Mike will only have one year of eligibility remaining for Rice, but he’ll have a chance to compete for a starting job.

The Owls play in Conference USA, where they finished 1-11 overall and 1-7 in conference play.
