Former Kentucky wide receiver Gerad Parker is reportedly set to be named the offensive coordinator at Notre Dame, replacing now Alabama bound offensive coordinator Tommy Rees.

Parker currently works for the Fighting Irish coaching tight ends. Notre Dame hired Wisconsin pass game coordinator Gino Guidugli as its next quarterbacks coach Wednesday and head coach Marcus Freeman is ready to promote from within to lead the Fighting Irish offense.

Scott Roussel of Footballscoop first reported the news Wednesday shortly after Guidugli was hired from Wisconsin. It was reported that Parker was interviewed for the job earlier Wednesday afternoon.

Parker spent 5 years with the Wildcats from 2000-2004, seeing playing time only his senior year. He got into coaching soon after in the Kentucky high school ranks before returning to the university in 2007 as a graduate assistant.

From there, Parker made stops at UT Martin, Marshall, Purdue, Duke, Penn State and West Virginia before finally landing at Notre Dame as tight ends coach.

Notre Dame has not yet officially announced the hiring of Parker.
