Former NFL star Russell Wilson has enjoyed a move from the field to the studio, as he is currently an analyst on the CBS pregame show.
However, he may be making the move back to the field, this time as a coach, as he reportedly has interviewed for the open NC State job.
That’s according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter:
Wilson spent four years at NC State, from 2007 through 2010, before transferring to Wisconsin for his final season. During his three seasons as the quarterback at NC State, he finished with 8,545 yards,76 touchdowns, and 26 interceptions. He was also a dual-threat quarterback, rushing for 1,089 yards and 17 touchdowns during his time in Raleigh.
He isn’t the only former Wolfpack coach to interview for the job, as former NFL star Phillip Rivers is regarded as one of the favorites for the job. Rivers is a high school football coach in Alabama, while Wilson doesn’t have any coaching experience.
The Wolfpack and Florida State are two of the biggest jobs open now, but there figures to be a lot more opening up in the next few weeks. The Wolfpack will look at all candidates, but it seems like the school wants to bring in a former Wolfpack player.
