As Jaxson Dart continued to find success during the NFL preseason, it led many fans to speculate whether the New York Giants would allow the rookie signal-caller to see the field this season, despite the club having added the services of veteran Russell Wilson over the offseason.

And while Brian Daboll and his staff have assured the media that Wilson is the team’s true QB1, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported that the organization does have offensive packages in place to get Dart involved in certain scenarios.

Through 3 preseason games (one start), Dart completed 32-of-47 attempts for 372 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also tacked on 6 carries for 52 yards and a score.

After spending his freshman year at USC, Dart transferred to Ole Miss and played for three seasons under Lane Kiffin. The prolific gunslinger shattered many Rebel records and accounted for 10,617 passing yards, 1,498 rushing yards and 84 total touchdowns over those years.

That collegiate résumé prompted him to be selected by New York with the 25th pick in April’s NFL Draft.

The Giants are set to kick their season off against the Washington Commanders at 1 p.m. EST, with the game featuring two of the league’s promising young quarterbacks in Dart and Jayden Daniels.
