Stop me if you’ve heard this before — Henry Ruggs III has speed to burn.
It’s the very reason the Las Vegas Raiders drafted the former Alabama pass catcher as the top overall wide receiver in the 2020 NFL Draft — even before his Tide teammate Jerry Jeudy, and he proved the Raiders right on his very first NFL catch.
During the first quarter, Raiders quarterback Derek Carr hit a wide open — quarantined — Ruggs streaking across the field, and he nearly scored his first NFL touchdowns on his very first catch. Ruggs was ultimate tackled at the 1-yard-line, and his former Alabama teammate Josh Jacobs punched it in for the first score of the season.
Ruggs has 1 catch for 45 yards; that’s a solid NFL average, huh?
