One of the most intriguing stories of the 2024 college football season was the journey of former top quarterback prospect and Florida Gators signee Jaden Rashada, who spent the entire year on the bench for the Georgia Bulldogs after transferring in from Arizona State.

Rashada didn’t see any playing time with the Dawgs, but he did stir up some controversy over a lawsuit he filed against Georgia’s arch-rival, the Gators, over an NIL dispute he had with the team after agreeing to sign with UF out of high school.

That was about the only thing Rashada got done in 2024, though, and with no clear path to playing at UGA on the table, the now-sophomore elected to enter the transfer portal once again, this time landing out west with the Sacramento State Hornets.

Rashada entered fall camp fighting for the starting quarterback spot at Sac State, and according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, he has finally secured the starting role he reportedly has been searching for with the Hornets.

Rashada will reportedly get the start under center for Sacramento State in week one when they take on FCS powerhouse South Dakota State.

The Hornets have become one of the most intriguing programs to follow lately, experiencing a significant influx of NIL funding that has, in turn, enabled the team to substantially enhance its overall roster talent.

With Rashada at the helm, they could end up making some serious noise in the near future.
