Jamal Adams, former LSU star, suffers right knee injury vs. Giants: ‘Not good’

Jamal Adams just can’t catch a break.
The 30-year-old former LSU safety (now a linebacker) sustained a non-contact knee injury while playing against the New York Giants on Saturday. The Vikings linebacker landed awkwardly while trying to avoid getting his feet tangled with a Giants receiver in coverage and had to be carted off the field.
Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell said following the game that Adams suffered a right knee injury in the second quarter and that initial examinations are “not good.” He’ll receive an MRI tomorrow, so expect a further update soon.

Adams’ injury issues started around the 2022 season when he suffered a torn quad while playing for the Seahawks. He started the following season in Seattle before a concussion and knee strain ended his 2023 season, too. He played just 5 games in 2025 with the Titans and Lions before landing in Las Vegas with the Raiders last season.
Adams played 15 games for Vegas and was set to take on a bigger role this season in Minnesota after finally finding his footing. Though noting is confirmed as of 8/15, Adams’ season is now in jeopardy following Saturday’s non-contact injury.
