Jeff Brohm takes jab at Georgia over canceled home-and-home series

Jeff Brohm has enjoyed decent success during his tenure as Louisville‘s head coach, winning 28 games and leading the Cardinals to bowl victories in their last three seasons.
Heading into 2026, Brohm is looking to help the Cardinals finally break into the College Football Playoff conversation. Along with its ACC schedule, Louisville’s non-conference slate kicks off with a game against Ole Miss on Sunday at Nissan Stadium in Nashville.
“Charlotte was the team we were supposed to play,” Brohm said on the Inside Louisville Athletics Podcast. “We had been trying to add Ole Miss for a few years. We had been trying to add Tennessee at one point.”
Georgia, a program that Louisville had played only once before (in 2014) was on that list, too. Per On3, Jeff Brohm revealed that there was originally set to be a home-and-home series between the Cardinals and the Bulldogs.
It sounds as if Georgia pushed to have that arrangement scuttled, though.
“We had been trying to add some tough Power Four opponents. Well, I take that back. We had Georgia this year and last year on our schedule, and I’m supposed to say that it was a mutual agreement, but, uh…” Brohm said before trailing off.
Ultimately, the Cardinals were able to get a game on the books with the Rebels. It’s just the second meeting between the schools. The first was in 2021 in Atlanta, a 43-24 Ole Miss win.
