Joel Klatt said that Michigan hasn’t seen a quarterback that’s even remotely close to Jalen Milroe.
He joined “The Next Round” on Monday, and broke down the matchup. Klatt pointed to the offenses in the Big Ten and how they were not up to par, including Ohio State, which wasn’t what it once was on that side of the ball.
“Michigan has not seen a quarterback that is even remotely close to Jalen Milroe. What he brings to the table with his mobility, his ability to throw the football down the field, Michigan hasn’t seen that,” said Klatt. “The offenses in the Big Ten were just not strong. Even Ohio State’s wasn’t what they have been in recent vintage, because you can make an argument that Kyle McCord wasn’t nearly what C.J. Stroud was.”
Michigan’s ability to handle a mobile quarterback like Jalen Milroe will be a big factor in the outcome of the Rose Bowl. @joelklatt @CFBONFOX @RoseBowlStadium @AlabamaFTBL @UMichFootball pic.twitter.com/eNG6oVVqgV

Klatt said he thinks that the Rose Bowl will come down to how Michigan’s defense handles Milroe.
“Their ability to handle the mobility of Milroe I think is gonna be key in this game because it’s not a defense that’s built for a mobile quarterback,” said Klatt. “This is an NFL style defense that is built for the Big Ten. … I’m gonna be really interested to see how they want to defend Alabama and what Milroe brings to the table.”
The Rose Bowl will be on New Year’s Day at 5 p.m. ET on ESPN.
