Joel Klatt knows LSU is going to be a highly sought-after job, and he believes it is one of the best jobs in the entire sport. Frank Wilson is currently the interim coach for the team moving forward after Brian Kelly‘s dismissal, but the team expects to make a big splash in the off-season.

During an appearance on The Herd with Colin Cowherd, Klatt said he believes that Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin will be in Baton Rouge next season.

“LSU is intriguing,” Klatt said. “LSU is a step above. I think you have to overachieve at Ole Miss. You have to do things that the program has never done to reach your ultimate goals and win at the top end of college football. We know that LSU can and put together rosters year in and year that can compete at the top end of not only the SEC, but the country and win a national championship. I think LSU has top-two or three resources financially in college football. If I had to bet, Lane Kiffin is your next coach at LSU.”

Klatt has gone on the record saying that LSU should call Nick Saban, Urban Meyer and Dan Lanning as well to come be the head coach, but he thinks Lanning stays at Oregon. The conversation around Kiffin leaving Ole Miss is going to continue throughout the rest of the season, as Florida also figures to be very interested in bringing in the Rebels coach.

Right now, the main focus for Kiffin is getting his Rebels ready for South Carolina and continuing their track to the College Football Playoff. The Rebels don’t have a current Top 25 team remaining on their schedule, and have as good of chance as nearly any team in the country to make the CFP.
