Johnny Manziel says Texas A&M will be ‘B**** of the SEC’ without some soul searching

Texas A&M is rapidly deteriorating after losing a second straight SEC contest to LSU Saturday night. The Aggies are now 2-2 on the season after finishing last year’s regular season 11-1.
Neither loss was really close, either. Kentucky‘s Kenny Minchey had time to make a sandwich in the pocket last week in College Station, throwing for 252 yards on 14-of-18 completions. Both the Wildcats and Tigers rushed for over 150 yards with a combined 5 rushing touchdowns against the Aggies’ struggling defensive front.
On Saturday night, following Texas A&M’s loss to LSU, former Aggies quarterback Johnny Manziel took to social media to share his thoughts on the 2026 Aggies: “Better do some soul searching or you’re going to be the bitch of the SEC this year boys,” wrote Manziel.
Short and to the point.
It’s still early in the season, but Texas A&M and South Carolina are the only schools with 2 SEC losses before the calendar rolls over to October. That’s never a good sign. Especially so when Marcel Reed appears to be regressing after enjoying KC Concepcion and other Aggies stars as hot targets in 2025.
Reed saw ghosts Saturday night against the Tigers. He completed just 10 of his 26 passing attempts for 106 yards, zero touchdowns and 1 interception at an average of 4.6 yards per attempt. That won’t cut it in the MAC, much less the SEC.
It’s not like A&M’s schedule is getting any easier, either. The Aggies still have to face Mizzou, Texas, Tennessee and Alabama — all of which are ranked inside the top 25 in this week’s Coaches Poll.
Before those games, though, the Aggies do get a bit of a break at home against a woeful Arkansas squad. We’ll see if the Aggies can get back on track and above .500 heading into a road trip to Mizzou in Week 6.
