Juice Wells is going to make a lot of Gamecocks fans happy with this one.
Wells announced Monday night that while he will miss this weekend against Clemson, he is not sitting out to prepare for the NFL Draft and will play in Columbia next season.
That’s huge news for the star USC wide receiver and South Carolina football:
Clearing the air,
Iโm not playing and not holding out for the NFL draft. Iโll be back next yearโฆโ Antwane Wells (@juicew3lls) November 21, 2023
Wells has been dealing with a foot injury and has missed a majority of the season. He only has 3 receptions for 37 yards and 1 touchdown this season. Wells had a 1,250 yard season in 2021 at James Madison and a 928-yard season in 2022.
Xavier Legette is likely off to the NFL following this season, so Wells should be WR1 in Shane Beamer’s offense next season. Now, the question is whether Spencer Rattler will enter the Draft or return for another season.
