Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer made new comments regarding defensive back Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. on Monday.

While speaking at the Birmingham Monday Morning Quarterback Club, DeBoer confirmed that Kirkpatrick is currently not with the program due to violating program standards.

Here are his comments via Mike Rodak:

He’s not with us. We have an expectation and standard in our program, and the team rules, and things that go along with that. There’s still some details that I’m trying to understand, but it’s enough to where we know that’s not how we operate.

Kirkpatrick’s suspension for the Texas A&M game was confirmed by a team spokesman prior to kickoff on Saturday. DeBoer previously levied an indefinite suspension against Kirkpatrick during the 2025 season.

Kirkpatrick has largely served as a reserve during his Alabama career. Across parts of 3 seasons with the Tide, Kirkpatrick has registered 17 total tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 2 pass deflections and 2 forced fumbles.

Alabama’s defense struggled at times on Saturday against the Aggies, but the Tide pitched a shutout in the 4th quarter en route to a 31-20 win.

Alabama is idle in Week 10.
