Kirk Herbstreit’s dog, Peter, had some fun during Pat McAfee’s weekly kicking contest on College GameDay on Saturday.

Peter was an active part of the kicking contest this week, but ended up being quite disruptive to the Ohio State student who was chosen for the contest.

The student, Carson from Pittsburgh, repeatedly had to re-line up to take his kicks as Peter circled the kicking area. Herbstreit and others tried to occupy Peter by playing fetch, but it was largely to no avail.

In the end, Carson missed both of his attempts — although his first try looked to be very close to finding the uprights. Perhaps Peter’s presence made the difference in the end. Here’s a clip from the sequence:

Peter has begun joining Herbstreit on College GameDay locations since Ben passed away earlier this month following an illness.

This is College GameDay’s 24th trip all-time to Columbus, which is the most all-time.
