LSU has decided its No. 7 jersey honorees for the 2026 season.

Each fall, the LSU football program hands out the No. 7 jersey to a top playmaker on the team. This fall, there will be two No. 7 jersey recipients, the program announced on Wednesday.

The players wearing No. 7 will be tight end Trey’Dez Green and linebacker Whit Weeks.

Green is regarded as one of the best tight ends in the country. He earned second-team All-SEC honors in 2025 and was a huge threat in the red zone, catching a team-high 7 touchdown passes. Green is from Jackson, Louisiana.

Weeks is a veteran LSU linebacker who opted to return to Baton Rouge for his final season of eligibility. The star linebacker has made over 200 tackles during his college career, with the bulk of that production coming in 2024. He was a permanent team captain in 2025.

In recent years, the No. 7 jersey has also gone to a Louisiana native. Weeks is from Georgia, but will still have the honor of donning No. 7 this fall.

Green and Weeks are not the first pair to be awarded No. 7 in the same season. Will Campbell and Harold Perkins both also had No. 7 in 2024. The tradition started with Patrick Peterson back in 2008 and continued in the following years with players like Tyrann Mathieu and Leonard Fournette.
