LSU contributing lineman plans to enter the transfer portal, per report

LSU defensive lineman Ahmad Breaux is going to enter the transfer portal, according to CBS Sports.
The sophomore has played a pair of seasons for the Tigers, appearing in 24 games. Breaux has amassed 36 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, and 0.5 sacks during his time at LSU. He had 19 tackles this year and 17 as a freshman.
Breaux, a native of Louisiana, has a 3-star rating in the 247Sports Transfer Rankings. Coming out of high school, he was regarded by 247Sports as the nation’s No. 107 defensive lineman and the No. 29 prospect from Louisiana for the Class of 2024.
Breaux has 2 years of college eligibility remaining. The transfer portal opens on Jan. 2 and it’s a 1-time, 2-week period for decisions to be made.
LSU is in a transition period after firing Brian Kelly during the season and hiring former Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin last week.
The Tigers posted a 7-5 record this regular season. LSU will take on Houston in the Texas Bowl on Dec. 27. LSU leads the all-time series 2-1 vs. Houston. The last matchup was a 28-13 LSU home win on Sept. 9, 2000. Kickoff is set for 9:15 p.m. ET and the game will be televised on ESPN.
