Mike Elko and the Texas A&M Aggies are looking to get a huge road win against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and it is an extremely competitive game. Being in games like this can bring out anybody’s competitive spirit, and that happened to Elko on Saturday night.
After the Aggies defense gave up a touchdown, Elko went to that sidelines and delivered a passionate speech that including him throwing a chair.
Last year, these two teams faced off with the Fighting Irish winning that game 23-13 in College Station. This is one of those non-conference games that teams look back on in the end of the season and say ‘if we won that, maybe we are in the College Football Playoff’.
It was a huge game, and winning the game has been the issue for Texas A&M the past few years. Elko knows for his team to get away from that eight-to-nine win ceiling the team has had the past few years, this is the type of game they have to win.
