4 Mississippi State pitchers combine for team’s first no-hitter since 1985

Four Mississippi State pitchers combined for MSU’s first no-hitter since 1985 in the Bulldogs’ Sunday 13-0 win over Kent State.
Starter Jackson Fristoe tossed a perfect six innings on 87 pitches, including 56 that found the zone for 8 strikeouts. Landon Sims, Mikey Tepper, and Cam Tullar finished the job in relief. Sims worked a scoreless seventh inning, but allowed a walk, ending the perfect game. Tepper managed the next 1.2 innings, recording 3 Ks. Cam Tullar walked one before recording the final out which came on a highlight catch by Lane Forsythe, as shown in the video below from NCAA baseball. Per Mississippi State Assistant Director of Communications Greg Campbell, it was the team’s first no-hitter since Gene Morgan tossed seven hitless innings on April 6, 1985, at Hawaii-Hilo.
It was a series-deciding victory for the Bulldogs. MSU defeated Kent State 8-3 on Friday night but dropped Game 2 9-5 on Saturday. Mississippi State plays Grambling on Tuesday.
