One of Mizzou football’s incoming freshmen has reportedly left the team before playing a down for the Tigers.

On Wednesday, Cody Goodwin of PowerMizzou reported, citing multiple sources, that offensive lineman Brandon Anderson is no longer with Eli Drinkwitz‘s program.

Anderson was a member of Mizzou’s 2026 recruiting class and participated in spring practice this year. He is no longer listed on the Tiger football roster.

Out of Kennesaw (Georgia) North Cobb High School, Anderson was listed at 6-3, 340 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, he was rated 3-stars, the No. 46 interior offensive lineman, No. 64 recruit in the state of Georgia and No. 605 prospect overall nationally.

Anderson collected an impressive list of scholarship offers. Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami and Texas A&M all showed interest during his recruitment.

On Oct. 20, 2024, Anderson committed to Tennessee. That pledge didn’t last long, however, as Anderson decommitted from the Vols on Jan. 27, 2025.

A year ago, Anderson showed the most interest in Mizzou, Maryland, North Carolina and Tennessee. He committed to the Tigers on June 29. Anderson went on to sign with Mizzou in December and enroll in January.

Per Goodwin, Anderson’s reason for leaving Mizzou is unknown.
