The Missouri Tigers have pushed the pedal to the floorboard so far in 2025. They’re averaging a whopping 51.7 points per game and 587 yards per game through 3 contests this season. They’ve racked up 907 rushing yards, thanks in large part to Ahmad Hardy, who’s being recognized for his efforts.

On Tuesday, Hardy was named the Doak Walker National Running Back of the Week. The award follows Hardy’s dominant performance versus Louisiana, against whom he posted 22 carries, 250 yards (11.4 yards per carry) and 3 touchdowns. He did all that in just over 1 half of action, as he didn’t record a carry after the 10:02 mark of the third quarter.

Through 3 games, Hardy is averaging 8.1 yards per rush. He has 57 carries for 462 yards and 5 touchdowns. The sophomore tailback transferred to Mizzou after playing his freshman season at Louisiana-Monroe. He led the Sun Belt in carries (257), rushing yards (1,351) and rushing touchdowns (13) as a Warhawk, and is currently the SEC leader in rushing yards.

Hardy isn’t the Tigers’ first offensive player to earn a player of the week award this season. Last week, quarterback Beau Pribula was named the Maxwell National Player of the Week after leading Missouri to a thrilling 42-31 win over Kansas.

With Pribula and Hardy running the show, the sky’s the limit for Eli Drinkwitz’s squad. The Tigers host South Carolina this week, on Saturday at 7 p.m. E.T. (ESPN).
