Alabama bounced back from its loss at Tennessee 2 weeks ago by taking care of business at home against Mississippi State on Saturday night.

The Crimson Tide are 7-1 on the season and know that they likely can’t afford any more missteps if they plan on winning a national title.

Nick Saba’s team won’t play this Saturday, as it has its bye week.

But Saban said Wednesday that he expects to see his team get better this week during practice.

“I think the No. 1 thing we want to accomplish during the off week is individual improvement at every position and group improvement at every position,” said Saban during the weekly SEC coaches teleconference. “… That’s really the focus on what we’re trying to get done this week.”

Saban was also asked Wednesday about place kicker Will Reichard, who missed what might have been a game-winning FG with 15 seconds to play against the Volunteers.

“We’ve got a lot of confidence in Will,” Saban said. “He’s done a great job for us for a long time. Some of the kicks he’s missed have been difficult, 50-yarders, that kind of thing.”

The Crimson Tide plays next on Nov. 5 at LSU. The game is set to kick off at 7 p.m. (ET) and will be televised by ESPN.
