After racing out to a 3-0 start, Auburn has sputtered with back-to-back losses. However, a former rival head coach isn’t concerned about a tailspin from the Tigers.

During a press conference on Monday in advance of the Monday Morning Quarterback Club in Birmingham, Nick Saban shared an optimistic message for Auburn fans after the Tigers’ single-digit road losses at then-No. 11 Oklahoma and then-No. 9 Texas A&M.

“I would say, ‘Your team has been impressive,’” Saban said, per AL.com. “’You lost two really close games to top 10-teams on the road.’”

Saban complimented the efforts of Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze and cited improved offensive line as a potential turning point to get the season back on track.

“I think Hugh Freeze is doing a great job, and I think if you continue to support him that this team’s going to come around, if they can get the offensive line play a little bit better,” Saban said.

Auburn fans can take comfort in the college football head coaching GOAT’s words. However, the schedule doesn’t get any easier for Auburn even though its next 2 games are at home. The Tigers will host No. 12 Georgia on Oct. 22 and No. 19 Missouri on Oct. 18.
