Omarion Hampton reportedly soaring up NFL Draft boards

Omarion Hampton hopes to hear his name called very early in the NFL Draft when it commences on April 24.
The running back played 3 seasons at North Carolina, topping the 1,500-yard mark in 2023 and going over 1,600 yards in 2024. He also scored 30 combined touchdowns in those 2 seasons — 15 each year.
While Ashton Jeanty will be the clear No. 1 RB on draft boards, Hampton may not be too far behind, according to FOX Sports NFL insider Jordan Schultz, who reports that Hampton “continues to skyrocket up draft boards”.
“One executive I spoke with compared him and Ashton Jeanty to the Bijan Robinson-Jahmyr Gibbs class, saying both will go ‘very early,'” Schultz reported.
Robinson and Gibbs went 8th to the Atlanta Falcons and 13th to the Detroit Lions, respectively, in the 2023 draft. Both were top-20 rushers as rookies in 2023 before taking a big jump in 2024. Robinson was the league’s third-leading rusher (1,456) while Gibbs was not far behind at No. 5 (1,412).
Could we see both Jeanty and Hampton make a similar impact when they both enter the NFL? That remains to be seen. But it looks as though Hampton’s stock is continuing to get higher and higher.
