Parker Noland was on another level Friday evening. Actually, on another planet might be more accurate.

Vanderbilt as a team was firing on all cylinders in the series opener against Mississippi State. When the dust finally settled, the Commodores had pushed 26 runs across on 20 hits in a 26-3 win. Making that final score more impressive, the game was called after 7 innings.

As for Noland, it can be appropriately said he was the big catalyst in the game. After hitting a grand slam in the 6th inning, he went yard one more time.

He provided the final blow of the game with an opposite-field blast for his second grand slam of the game.

Noland’s full stat line for the game goes down as 5-for-6 with 3 runs scored and an eye-popping 11 RBI. Remarkably, he did strike out once but that is a hard one to complain about, all things considered.

Hot start for Vanderbilt baseball

Already this season, Vanderbilt baseball is off to a 17-5 record. The Commodores are on a 5-game winning streak and are 4-0 in SEC play so far.

The Commodores will play 2 more games on the road in Starkville this weekend before returning home. Next up will be a midweek matchup vs. Lipscomb and a home series for Georgia next weekend.
