It isn’t often that Alabama loses out on a four-star prospect they want, but that happened today when Hezekiah Jones chose Texas A&M over the Crimson Tide. Jones, the No. 18-ranked wide receiver in the class of 2017, decided to go with the Aggies over Auburn, Notre Dame and Houston as well.

Jones is a 6-foot, 196-pound receiver, who told GigEm247 earlier this week about his decision.

โ€œI just felt like it was the best fit for me,โ€ Jones said. โ€œWith what they have going on there, I feel like thereโ€™s something special brewing, especially with Coach (Noel) Mazzone there. Heโ€™s a great coach and his offense is immaculate. Itโ€™s so close to home and Iโ€™m playing SEC ball. You canโ€™t beat it.โ€

The four-star pass-catcher is from Stafford, Texas and is now one of many high-end wide receiver recruits to choose Texas A&M recently. In 2015, the Aggies brought in a couple four-star receivers in Christian Kirk and Kemah Siverand.

Back in 2014, Texas A&M got Speedy Noil, who was a five-star and in 2013, brought in a couple top-10 rated receivers in Ricky Seals-Jones and Sebastian LaRue. Jones, the latest big-time receiver to choose the Aggies, is a former Baylor commit and is now the 19th commit for the school’s 2017 class.

Here’s a highlight tape of the newest Aggie.
