Paul Finebaum names college football’s ‘most overrated’ head coach

Paul Finebaum has long been one of Jim Harbaugh’s most vocal critics. That doesn’t appear to be changing any time soon.
Finebaum recently participated in 247Sports’ “Social Distance” series. When host Brandon Marcello asked Finebaum to name the most overrated coach in college football, the ESPN analyst gave a predictable answer.
“There’s no getting around it,” Finebaum told Marcello. “For what he makes, for that program, he wins the crown. I’ve believed in them a couple of times. Maybe they’ll win at home. And I’m not a hater. I just have been abused by Jim Harbaugh in believing too often that he could get it done. He can’t get it done.”
Finebaum and Harbaugh have been highly critical of each other over the last few years. From satellite camps to implying SEC programs cheat on the recruiting trail, the head Wolverine has demonstrated a knack for making national headlines and agitating SEC fan bases. Finebaum, whose show airs on SEC Network, has been vocally critical of both Harbaugh’s off-field approach and on-field coaching on multiple World Wide Leader platforms. It’s safe to say Finebaum isn’t alone in the SEC community in struggling to take a $7.5-million coach with a 47-18 record (with no New Year’s Six wins or College Football Playoff appearances) seriously when he takes aim at the conference.
Despite Tom Crean’s best efforts, it looks like the feud won’t be ending any time soon.
