Paul Finebaum is tired of hearing about Notre Dame, and we haven’t even reached Week 0 of the 2022 season yet.

Appearing on “Get Up” on ESPN on Tuesday morning, Finebaum blasted AP Poll voters for putting the Fighting Irish at No. 5 in the preseason rankings.

Finebaum went as far as to say Marcus Freeman’s squad would be lucky to finish 2022 with 9 wins on its resume (via On3 Sports):

“Notre Dame is going to get run in the first game of the season,” Finebaum said. “They’re going to get destroyed at [The Horseshoe] and then, after that, they have to go to North Carolina a couple weeks later … they have Clemson on the schedule and they have [USC]. They’ll be fortunate to go 9-3. Laughable that they’re in the top 5 or 6.

“I think we can eliminate Notre Dame today. We don’t have to wait until the first week of the CFP.”

We won’t have to wait long to see if the Irish are for real. As Finebaum mentioned, they travel to Ohio State for a highly anticipated Week 1 showdown with the No. 2 Buckeyes.

If Ohio State wins by multiple touchdowns, you can bet Finebaum and other Notre Dame naysayers will be taking a victory lap that next week.
