COVID-19 is wreaking havoc on college football scheduling for 2020, but several scenarios are still on the table.

The ACC announced Wednesday that it would play 10 conference games and 1 non-conference game this fall. As things stand now, the 3 Chick-fil-A Kickoff games in Atlanta are off: West Virginia vs. FSU, Georgia vs. UVA and Auburn vs. North Carolina.

Peach Bowl Inc. CEO Gary Stokan released the following statement confirming the news Wednesday evening.

“We certainly understand the ACC is doing what they feel is in the best interest of the conference and the health of their teams, staff and student athletes, and as our partners, we support them in that decision,” Peach Bowl, Inc. CEO and President Gary Stokan said in a statement to AL.com. “However, we are disappointed we will lose the opportunity to host Florida State, Virginia and North Carolina and their fans in our scheduled Chick-fil-A Kickoff Games this season.

“We still look forward to hosting two top 10 teams in our Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl on January 1 in Mercedes Benz Stadium.”

It’s important to note, though, that the ACC’s scheduling left the door open for teams to have one non-conference game. For Georgia, that’s hopefully Georgia Tech. For Auburn, it could still play UNC; however, it won’t be in Atlanta. The Tigers are currently exploring other potential opponents, too.

Sports Illustrated’s Ross Dellenger reported Wednesday that the SEC was moving closer to a 10-game conference-only schedule for 2020.
