Purdue superfan Tyler Trent captured the hearts of the college football world this past season, showing such bravery and kindness in the face of his battle with cancer.

Sadly, he passed away shortly after Purdue’s bowl game loss to Auburn, but his memory and his legacy live on in West Lafayette (and many other locations around the country).

On Wednesday, the Boilermakers announced that they would pay tribute to Trent by renaming the student admission gate at Ross-Ade Stadium after him:

That’s a great gesture by the Boilermakers, and one that will allow Purdue players to remember him for generations to come.

The student body is sure to love this new gate, too, as Trent was popular all over campus.
