Texas A&M defeated Notre Dame 41-40 in stunning fashion on Saturday night.
The Aggies prevailed in a back-and-forth affair thanks to a touchdown pass from Marcel Reed to Nate Boerkircher with just 11 seconds remaining. Because Notre Dame didn’t convert an extra point on its previous touchdown, the Aggies were able to win the game in regulation.
Notre Dame’s attempted heroics on the final play of the game went unanswered, leading to a massive victory for A&M’s Playoff hopes.
Notre Dame moves to 0-2 on the season after beginning the year ranked in the top 10. The Fighting Irish also lost to Miami back in Week 1.
The Aggies amassed 7.1 yards per play in this victory and finished with 488 yards for the game. Reed was sensational, throwing for 360 yards and 2 touchdowns on 37 attempts. Le’Veon Moss also pitched in 3 touchdowns on the ground.
