South Carolina football has landed in the top 5 of a 4-star recruit in the Class of 2027.
There’s a lot of reason for optimism here, too. Aiden Gibson, a 4-star running back who hails from Woodruff, South Carolina, announced on Tuesday that he will decide between South Carolina, Penn State, Rutgers, North Carolina and Louisville. He also holds offers from Florida, Tennessee, Florida State and Indiana, to name a few.
Gibson, who stands at 6-foot-2 and 205 lbs, will take an official visit to South Carolina on June 5. He’s also scheduled to visit Rutgers and Penn State, and he created his top 5 after taking an unofficial visit to Penn State on April 4.
According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, Gibson is considered to be the No. 322 overall prospect in the Class of 2027, as well as the No. 23 RB and No. 7 prospect out of the state of South Carolina.
The Gamecocks could use some good news on the recruiting trail right now. South Carolina recently lost commitments from 2 of 4 commits in the Class of 2027, leaving only 3-star QB Jerry Meyer III and 3-star safety Jernard Albright in the 2027 class.
