Former South Carolina star Jadeveon Clowney will reportedly suit up for the Houston Texans in 2026.
That news was first shared by the NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport on Sunday afternoon. The report notes that Clowney will be staying in the state of Texas after a productive 2025 campaign with the Dallas Cowboys.

This is Clowney’s second stint with the Texans. Houston drafted Clowney No. 1 overall in the 2014 NFL Draft and he turned in 3 Pro Bowl seasons for the Texans before moving on.
Clowney has bounced around in recent years, playing for the Seahawks, Titans, Browns, Ravens, Panthers and Cowboys since leaving Houston. However, he’s remained productive despite the lack of continuity, posting 8+ sacks in 2 of the past 3 seasons.
Clowney joins a Texans team that will be hoping to contend for the AFC South title and a playoff spot in 2026-27. Houston has reached the postseason in 3 consecutive campaigns — its longest streak since joining the NFL in 2002.
The Texans were excellent against the pass in 2025, ranking No. 1 in the NFL in EPA-per-pass allowed. Having Clowney as a pass rushing option should only help to strengthen Houston’s disruptive defense.
