South Carolina interior offensive lineman Nick Sharpe plans to enter the transfer portal after less than a year with the Gamecocks, per 247Sports. The guard started a total of 17 games in his career, including 5 starts during his time with the Gamecocks this season.
Sharpe transferred from Wake Forest after nearly 4 years with the program. He entered the transfer portal on December 5, 2024, and committed to South Carolina on December 14, 2024. A year later, Sharpe is back in the portal and will be searching for a new team.
Sharpe becomes the fifth South Carolina player with reported intentions to enter the transfer portal this year. He joins tight end Michael Smith, defensive lineman Zavion Hardy, wide receiver Emazon Littlejohn and linebacker Jaron Willis.
South Carolina will presumably be looking to add talent in the transfer portal this offseason as well. The Gamecocks endured a disappointing campaign in 2025 as they went just 4-8 and will not play in the postseason.
However, South Carolina is expected to return numerous key players in 2026 and could be in position to have a much better season next fall.
