The Tennessee Volunteers have been very active in the transfer portal this offseason, adding a number of highly sought-after players and being linked to several others.
Defense has been the primary focus for head coach Josh Heupel thus far, with guys like former Penn State pass rusher Chaz Coleman and linebacker Xavier Gilliam headlining the Volunteers’ transfer class.
Rocky Top bolstered their defensive front even further on Monday night, with On3’s Hayes Fawcett reporting former Tulane Green Wave pass rusher Jordan Norman’s official commitment to the Volunteers.
A 3-star recruit in the 2023 cycle, the Hoover, Alabama native committed to and signed with the South Alabama Jaguars coming out of high school, where he spent 2 seasons before making the move to Tulane in 2025.
Norman blossomed into a dominant pass rush specialist for the Green Wave in his lone season with the team, racking up the second-most sacks among all Tulane defenders with 6 while helping guide them to the first CFP appearance in program history.
Norman entered the portal following former Green Wave head coach Jon Sumrall‘s departure for Florida, and now he, too, will be making the jump to the SEC by joining one of the Gators’ biggest rivals.
