Tennessee has moved on from ex-Penn State edge rusher Chaz Coleman, according to a report.
Coleman was reportedly away from the team this spring, but returned to Knoxville at the end of May. However, On3’s Pete Nakos and Chris Low are reporting that Coleman has been “medically disqualified” from Tennessee‘s roster.

This is a huge loss for the Vols. Coleman was among their top transfer additions this offseason considering he had multiple years of eligibility remaining and was a former 4-star recruit.
He followed former Penn State defensive coordinator Jim Knowles to Knoxville and was expected to be develop into a top pass rushing threat for Tennessee. It was previously reported that Coleman missed his report day for summer workouts in Knoxville.
As a freshman in 2025, Coleman recorded 3 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 2 fumble recoveries and 1 forced fumble.
Tennessee did also add another edge rusher in Jordan Norman via the transfer portal this offseason. Last year at Tulane, Norman totaled 28 tackles, 8 tackles for loss and 6 sacks.
