Texas A&M lands commitment from No. 1 player in Oklahoma

Jimbo Fisher’s Texas A&M coaching staff successfully went into neighboring Oklahoma to land a commitment from the state’s No. 1 recruit.
Beggs standout Kendal Daniels announced his pledge to the Aggies on Saturday via his Twitter account. The 6-4, 190-pounder is rated as the No. 5 safety and No. 139 prospect overall nationally on the 247Sports Composite. Daniels had 24 scholarship offers and picked Texas A&M over fellow finalists LSU, Clemson and Oklahoma.
With Daniels on board, Texas A&M now has 13 players committed in its 2021 recruiting class. Daniels is the highest-rated defensive player of those commitments with a Composite score of 0.9376. His Hudl video of junior season highlights and tweeted commitment note can each be viewed below:
