Texas A&M is the first SEC team to get the 2018 campaign underway. This season, there is the added excitement of a new head coach. The Jimbo Fisher era in Aggieland officially begins on Thursday, August 30, 2018 as Texas A&M hosts Northwestern State. Below find game time and TV channel information.
The Aggies are coming off a 7-6 season last year under former coach Kevin Sumlin. Texas A&M is looking to bounce back after dropping its final two contests, the regular-season finale against LSU and the Belk Bowl against Wake Forest, to end the 2017 season.

Time: The Texas A&M-Northwestern State game will air at 8:30 p.m. ET.

Trayveon Williams shares excitement over Texas A&M’s season opener: ‘This team is ready’
Junior RB Trayveon Williams said he and his teammates are itching to play in front of the 12th Man again.
โItโs an exciting feeling, being able to go back out there and compete,โ Williams said. โWhenever youโre able to be in front of Kyle Field, itโs always a great feeling. We have the best fans in the world, best fans in the country, and those, and those guys are going to come out there and give us their all every day. Iโm excited to be able to go back out there in front of them so they can see this new team.โ
Veteran players have had to adjust to more intense practices under Fisher.
โIt has been intense, but at the same time, itโs that intensity thatโs going to bring out the best in this team,โ Williams said. โThis team is ready, this team has been competing and this team is ready to go out there and be the best that we can be. This university deserves it, this community deserves it, and weโre going to give it to them.โ
