Vanderbilt running back Brian Kimbrow suspended indefinitely

Vanderbilt running back Brian Kimbrow has been suspended indefinitely by coach Derek Mason for conduct detrimental to the team, the school announced Monday.
The junior fumbled on his only attempt of the season, a 6-yard loss in Vandy’s opening game 37-7 loss to Temple. He has not made an appearance since then.
“No one player is bigger than the team,” Mason said during his radio call-in show Monday night. “We’re not going to comment on anything else. It’s always about team.”
Instead, redshirt freshman Ralph Webb has seen the majority of carries from the backfield, rushing for 378 yards and one touchdown on 77 carries for the Commodores (1-3, 0-2 SEC).
Kimbrow has totaled 748 yards and six touchdowns in his collegiate career, but has seen a drop in his production each season. He had 413 rushing yards as a freshman in 2012 and 341 last season.
Kimbrow was one of the top high school prospects in Tennessee in 2011, when he rushed for nearly 2,000 yards for Memphis East and was named a finalist for Class 5A Mr. Football Back of the Year finalist.
