Maybe Mark Fox was on to something when he called the recent allegations against his sport “just the tip of the iceberg” last week. If Georgia’s coach is correct, there could soon be several coaches in as much danger as Arizona’s Sean Miller appears to be at the moment.

If you missed the news over the weekend, Miller has been accused of discussing a payment of $100,000 to secure the signature of star player DeAndre Ayton. Arizona suspended Miller following the accusation but have continued to let Ayton play.

During a Monday morning appearance on FOX Sports radio show Outkick, hosted by Clay Travis, Yahoo! Sports columnist Dan Wetzel offered up his opinion on how many Power 5 coaches could be in danger of losing their jobs. Wetzel set the number at 20:

While Wetzel has not been among the Yahoo! writers breaking the stories into the FBI’s investigation into college basketball in recent days, it stands to reason he’s more informed on the topic than most considering he works with the writers that have. Taking into consideration there are 65 Power 5 jobs (including Notre Dame) in the country, if 20 coaches did lose their jobs following this investigation, that would represent nearly a third of all the active coaches leading those programs at this time.

So far, Auburn, Kentucky, Alabama, South Carolina, LSU, and Vanderbilt have been implicated in the FBI’s investigation. No players or coaches have recently been suspended from those programs following the release of the revealing story last week.
