Former Georgia OL Sedrick Van Pran-Ganger traded to new NFL team

Early this morning, former Florida Gators defensive lineman Gervon Dexter Sr. was traded from the Chicago Bears to the Atlanta Falcons. This meant, as the other participant in the World’s Largest Cocktail Party, that the Georgia Bulldogs also needed someone to be traded today. It only took about 90 minutes for that to happen.
Shortly after Dexter was dealt, the Buffalo Bills traded center Sedrick Van Pran-Ganger to the Indianapolis Colts. Indy announced the trade on Twitter/X.
The Colts swapped a 2027 sixth-round pick for Van Pran-Ganger and a 2027 seventh-round selection.

Van Pran-Ganger, a 2024 fifth-round draft choice (No. 141 overall) by Buffalo, made 34 appearances (including playoffs) for the Bills. He made two career starts in Orchard Park, which both came in Week 18 of his two professional campaigns.
Like most players who are traded this time of year, Van Pran-Ganger fell victim to the roster circumstances. Buffalo gave Conner McGovern a four-year, $52 million extension before the new league year began, and took an upside swing on Lloyd Cushenberry in free agency. This left Van Pran-Ganger as the Bills’ third center, a depth piece that no NFL team is going to keep on their 53-man roster.
Van Pran-Ganger should immediately slot in as the backup to Tanor Bortolini for Indianapolis. Bortolini, a fourth-round selection (No. 117 overall) in the 2024 NFL Draft, started 16 games at center for the Colts in 2025.
